Christmas Cares: About Your Fears!
Last week, we began looking at the Christmas story through the eyes of Joseph. We talked about the great dreams he had for his future and how God interrupted those dreams with another plan. A plan that seemed, at first, to be unbelievable. That plan then became a bit scary, but ended up being the best possible scenario for this unlikely hero. Today, we're going to talk a bit about FEAR. All of us have them. Some of us are gripped by them. Some of us are paralyzed by them. But the overwhelming story of Christmas is that God cares about our fears and He wants us to be calmed in the midst of them. Today, let's take a look at this same story through Mary's eyes. Now, certainly Mary had the same dreams of a "perfect life" as Joseph. Dreams that were interrupted by God's plans. But there were some significant additions to Mary's view and those additions all had to do with unbelievable fear. Fear of the unknown, fear of the consequences of what she was now facing, fear of criticism, fear of failure. Does God care about our fears? Lets take a look.
