2010-08-22 Jonathan Falwell The Heart of The Church: What is our Mission? And so today I thought what we would do is begin this series in literally talking about and breaking down what the mission of this church is. But the one thing that we've got to understand right off the base here, right out front here is this; the church is not this building. The church is not this organization. The church is not this corporation. The church is you and me. The church is each and every one of us and this is what God has called us to be, what God has called us to do. And it starts right up front with one very important statement found in Romans chapter 1, verse 16 that says this above all else, "I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is (it is) salvation for everyone who believes.' The power of God is found through that statement and I believe firmly today that we have way too many churches, way too many pastors, way too many followers of Christ who are ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
