The place today remains empty because Jesus is not there because He is the Lamb of God that takes away the sins of the world. It's interesting to think that Jesus, that perfect spotless Lamb that was worthy for sinners slain, to pay that price for us. In His entire life, in everything that we talk about Christ, it has to do with that perfect Lamb.
