Delivered by Rev. Jerry Falwell, April 1999
- Never, never quit
- 2 Cor 3:5-6
- Most Christians have a wrong view of trouble
- Being a Christian doesn’t guarantee deliverance from trouble, rather deliverance in trouble
- You don’t determine a man’s greatness by his wealth or status as the world does, but rather by what it takes to discourage him
- Trouble is a basic need for spiritual growth
- God doesn’t give us an overcoming life, he gives us life as we overcome
- God will give you the strength
- God’s grace is not available for tomorrow, it is for today
- 2 Cor 12 – in our weakness we are made strong by his great strength
- He gives strength for the moment
- God’s ultimate high is only revealed in life’s greatest crisis
- You will never get out of trouble
- Learn how to live while you’re in trouble
- God promises to never leave us nor forsake us
- You are not the only one who suffers
- 1 Cor. 10:13 – God is faithful
- He will never take us past what we are able to bear
- Trouble is not always judgment
- Hebrews 12:6
- Your trouble comes from God. He either allows it or sends it.
- Job 13:16 – Yet will I trust Him
- Bear your own burdens
- God may send someone to help, but we must trust God alone
- God will give you everything you need
- False optimism are detrimental
- Get alone with God in prayer
- The world needs pillars of strength
- When we complain, our problem is really a heart problem
- Pray about your problem
- Pray for others, don’t gossip or complain
- Satan uses a lot of things to discourage us
- Lack of prayer
- Physical fatigue
- Unconfessed Sin
- Failure
- Routine
- Betrayal and Bitterness
- Selfishness
- No matter what today holds; never, never quit!
